About Becky
Becky Kotsinis was raised by her maternal grandparents in Valparaiso, IN, where she was a member of the school orchestra and her school's first state championship Science Olympiad team. After graduating from Andrean High School in Merrillville, IN, Becky attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN. Becky spent one summer during college as an exchange student studying theater in London, England, and received a BA in Journalism from Indiana University in 1998.
Becky worked as both a print and broadcast journalist both during and after college, holding positions in several radio stations and working as a producer/director/graphics operator for a television station in South Bend, IN covering Notre Dame sports.
Becky settled in the Gurnee area with her husband, George, in 2001 and has since worked as a substitute teacher in several high-performing local school districts, holding long-term substitute positions teaching music, band/orchestra, drama, and first grade.
She has three children, her daughter Angie who is in the eighth grade, her son James who is in third grade, and her younger son Leo who is two.
